When I had my daughter, my mom said, “Now you don’t GET to be depressed, you have a child who needs you.”
My kid is ten, I am still mentally unwell, and my mother is still not a very nice person but ‘it’s all in my head’.
I like your approach much better. Help, not hinder.

I’d set boundaries with your mom and showing your child that you deal with emotions in a healthy way and that it’s ok to not be ok. Sets a great emotionally healthy example

Unfortunately, setting boundaries with my family results in them refusing to speak to us. I don’t want my kid to one day blame me that she missed out on grandma and grandpa time over my issues so I tend to keep it “here, take your grandchild, bring her home at 5, see ya.” Some people only respect boundaries that are their own 😦 My kid, now 10, is backing away from everyone so now I am just being accused of poisoning her against them. I am not, she is a normal ten year old. They don’t get it.
How I am not in a clocktower with a staple gun screeching about aliens reading my thoughts is beyond me, my family is fucked up.

As long as it doesn’t negatively affect your daughter and she understands what stigma is and you keep going with your treatment your on the right track
